Parts of Speech
While delivering a speech the whole sole purpose of the speaker is to influence the listeners and encourage them that they bound to listen to the speaker. Giving a great speech in public is an art and this art needs to be learnt. Before a speaker speaks the speech he or she needs to be prepared with the content. The draft should be so meaningful and apt for the audience that the listeners find pleasure in hearing what the speaker is saying. For that the three parts of Speech are there which needs to be kept in mind while drafting it.
The three parts are,
Ethos - This is the opening of the speech where the speaker is trying to build the confidence among the listeners and make some rapport with them. As a listener, why someone should hear to them? The answer of this question needs to be clarified here in this part. A speaker can greet the audience and try to take them under his confidence so that the speaker and the listeners both are comfortable in the entire process.
Pathos- This part of speech is very important where the speaker uses emotional approach to contact with the listeners. Emotionally connecting with the audience develops a sense of belongingness and empathy. Once audience develops the feeling of belongingness they will definitely give their time, attention and focus to what the speaker is speaking. Here the wavelength of what the speaker is speaking and what the listeners want to listen should match with each other.
Logos- Logos deal with providing sufficient evidences and facts for what you are saying. In logos basically as a speaker a person tried to win the confidence of the audience by providing suitable proofs. If a speaker is very well versed in practicing Logos he can make a false statement also look like true by providing endless facts and audience will beleive it as well.
So next time you prepare any speech make sure to use these parts of speech to stand out of the crowd.
