 Today Public speaking has become an important skill which needs to be integrated among the people. Everyone want to learn this skill but have we wondered about its history? How it has come? Is it a new concept or something which existed years back?

So let's see the History of Public Speaking. The history of public speaking dates back around 2500 years ago. In ancient Greece it was considered a skill which must be possessed by each and everyone to be the active citizen of the nation in a democracy. According to Aristotle, the skill of public speaking, empowers the citizens to debate, challenge and ask the questions about the functioning and working of the government. The Administration can effectively be working if they are held accountable and the accountability can only be checked if citizens know how to ask the questions and express opinions. Public Speaking is as essential as clothes even at that time also as it facilitates political debates and participation in assemblies.

From day to day life to politics everywhere the winners are one who can easily express themselves, hence since then the skill of public speaking is considered very important to be an active participant of the nation. Ever since the skill has been evolved and the art of public speaking is modified with time but it always finds it's roots rooted deep in the history.
